The Creation

The Creation

Origin of LowTide:

As a SWFL native, fishing has been an integral part of my life since I was old enough to hold a rod. Whether it was sunrise walks on the beach looking for snook, or pond hopping any lake I could access with my bike, I was hooked at a young age. As time passed, my sense of adventure grew as well. I ventured further offshore, and further away from the ramp in the backcountry. Many days were spent on the water and many nights were spent camping on remote beaches, fully immersing myself in God's creation away from cell service and civilization.

For years, the determining factors of a successful trip were the size and number of fish caught. Like many kids, my mind was going a million miles an hour and I lacked the introspection to realize that the real fun is in the preparation, planning, and ultimately the adventure. With age, I learned that no good fish story starts with the target species at the boat. They start the night before in the garage, meticulously preparing your knots, lures and rods for the next day. They may start before first light, going over the game plan with your buddies over a cup of coffee. They may even start with an unexpected wrinkle in the plan due to weather or tides. All of these elements allow thousands of people to visit the same boat ramps and fish the same banks and leave with unique, personal experiences that keep them coming back.

Anyone can go to their local tackle shop and buy a generic, mass produced rod off the rack that will help them catch fish. In fact, most do, including myself for many years. From personal experience, I can attest that many times I looked past the rod itself and viewed it simply as a tool to get the target fish to the boat in the most cost effective way. What if your fishing rod could add another personal detail to each trip, bring mindfulness to each cast, and help ensure that you leave every day with a unique and personal connection to every fish caught and spot fished? With this in mind, LowTide Rod Co. was born.

At LowTide, we push back against the norm. We firmly believe that every detail of your day on the water contributes to your personal connection to the outdoors, including your rod. Each of our base models stand out from the crowd, with designs inspired by various ecosystems that we have personally spent hundreds of hours in. Our goal, whether you buy one of our base models or design your own custom rod is to have us be a part of your fish story, not just a tool that helped land the fish.

Behind our unique designs lies the highest quality components. Each of our rods are built out with Fuji guides and Fuji reel seats, individually build with precision and care. We treat every rod built as if it was our own and ensure our customers are our top priority.
